Designing Cakes in Nursery B
This week the children in nursery received a letter from Mr and Mrs Baker asking them to enter the ‘Award Winning Cake Competition’. The children are thinking carefully and talking to one another about the shape and size of their cakes as well as toppings and flavours.

Hedgehog Bread in Nursery A
The children made hedgehog bread rolls in nursery today. They used skills of mixing, kneading, rolling and cutting. They observed the dough rising and baking. Nursery smelt amazing! We hope our families enjoy the bread.

Patterns
This week we will be investigating patterns. We started off by reading the story ‘My Mum and Dad Make Me Laugh’ by Nick Sharratt. The children loved looking for the spots and stripes in the book. We then went to activities and explored further by making our own patterns.

Musical Instruments in Nursery B
The children have been learning about musical instruments and exploring the sounds that the different instruments make. We sang a variety of nursery rhymes and chose the instruments to match the rhyme.
Fine Motor
In Reception we take every opportunity to practise our fine motor skills. This week we have been using Geo Boards and elastic bands.
