Year 4 Halloween Poetry
We finished our half term writing some of our own Halloween poetry. We had lots of fun creating group stanzas and thinking about rhyming couplets to complement our poems! We even got to perform our poem as a class.
Year 4 Doodle Monsters

Year 4 England Rugby
Today, the girls participated in a rugby session led by Nikita Prothero, who plays for Sharks rugby team. The aim was to inspire more girls to join rugby clubs after the recent success of England Women’s Rugby team during the World Cup!

Times Table Fun!
This week year 4 have been working really hard on their times tables! We started we our 3s, then 6s and 9s. The children have loved working practically to create their own arrays with counters, writing on the tables makes everything much more exciting too!
Electricity
We have been learning about electricity in `year 4. Today’s lesson we created our own simple circuits and discussed the difference between an open and closed circuit, as well as insulators and conductors of electricity.
Kingsley & Co Book Trip
Year 4 recently visited Kingsley & Co, a Ykids literacy project operating as a cosy cafe and book shop in Bootle.
The children absolutely loved playing, reading and simply sharing books for the day. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish!

Year 4: Layers of the Earth
Today, we started our new topic on volcanoes. We looked at the different layers of the Earth, and used play-dough to create them. Ask us about the different layers of the Earth!
Year 4 Art: Georgia O’Keefe
Year 4 completed their art topic of painting today by producing one of their own abstract pieces focusing on flowers. The children used a range of materials to help create their desired effects; sketching pencils, water colours and acrylic paints.
