This week we have been looking at different measures.  We have been using our hands to weigh two items and use our hands like a see saw.  The children then went into provision and continued this. 

We have been learning to pray in school.  The children have been practising the sign of the cross and spending special time talking to God.  Sometimes they choose to spend a little time saying a private prayer at our special RE table.  

We enjoy lots of healthy snack in Reception.  Today we were trying a garlic dip with breadstick and fruit.  It was delicious! 

Working together to build a zoo!

The children are learning to share their toys and resources with lots of other children.  They are learning how to resolve conflicts when things do not go their way or they have to wait to use a toy.  We are very proud of how well they are doing. 

We have had such a busy first week in Reception.  We have been exploring all the areas in our classrooms and garden. The children are meeting lots of new people and playing games together to learn each others names.

We were very excited when we came into school today and noticed that our caterpillars had hatched out of their chrysalis' into beautiful butterflies.  After lunch we all went into the garden to set them free and watched as they flew away.  

This week we have been talking about how to keep ourselves healthy.  We discussed ways of exercising and healthy foods to eat.  We then chopped up fruit to make a spectacular fruit salad.  The children loved doing this but found the pineapple quite tricky to cut up.  

This week we have started tooth brushing in school.  Designed to compliment what the children do at home we have been taking it in turns to have a go at brushing our teeth in school. The children have loved getting on their coloured toothbrush train and using their own individual toothbrushes to…
