As part of our special work on relationships we have talked about our families.  Who is special to us and who lives with us.  The children then made pebble families to represent our special people.  

It’s lovely to see the children back in school enjoying a heathy snack of tinned fruits.  They tried mandarin oranges, peach, pear and pineapple today.  They have settled back into our routines so well and are catching up with each other chatting about their half term adventures. 

The children have enjoyed reconnecting with friends after the half term. They are working hard making new worlds to play in using all of our resources. 

We were very lucky today.  After our shared Harvest Assembly we had a very special visitor to our classes.  Fr Anthony came into our assembly and read a special story to us.  We were so excited to finally meet our new priest and were thrilled that he read a lovely story for us.

With Halloween so close lots of children in Reception have been visiting the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins for their homes.  You can also pick corn on the cob and we were lucky enough talk about this in our Harvest assembly this morning.  Thank you for sharing! 

We are hammering golf tees into pumpkins this week to practise our fine motor skills.  

In Reception we have been learning a poem all about mini beasts.  This afternoon we went into the hall and performed it for the All Day Nursery children.  Reception have worked really hard on their ‘Poetry Voices’ and Nursery loved listening to it.  Well done Reception! Great Performance.…

Following on from our poetry work on minibeasts, the children are using resources indoors to make their own minbeast habitats.   They have worked together and were so proud of their creation.  They spent a considerable amount of time playing once it was built.  

Today we have been talking about being made welcome.  We went over to church and re enacted a baptism and discussed being welcome in the Church’s family.

This week we are looking at poetry around mini beasts

We have been enjoying the autumnal sunshine this morning in the garden. The children have loved exploring, we have found lots of lady birds!  We had a campfire with cake and songs.
