This week the children have been making a healthy vegetable pasta sauce. They have been chopping tomatoes, courgettes, peppers and carrots to make a delicious snack. After cooking our ingredients we used the blender to create a nice smooth sauce for our pasta.

This week we have been talking about how to keep ourselves healthy.  We discussed ways of exercising and healthy foods to eat.  We then chopped up fruit to make a spectacular fruit salad.  The children loved doing this but found the pineapple quite tricky to cut up.  

This week the children have enjoyed engaging in sensory water play.  Intended to support fine motor skills and develop mathematical and scientific concepts, the children have focused on this form of play for extended periods.

The children have been using our new bamboo pipes to experiment with cause and effect using a ball.  They use teamwork and communication skills to make sure the ball didn’t roll off!

The children are enjoying the warmer spring weather and are having lots of fun outdoors. They are listening to stories, playing together, practising ball skills, sharing and taking turns. 

We have looked at the effect of using soap has on keeping our hands free of germs.. It was so interesting to see the children’s reactions to the pepper moving away from the clean hands.  

This week for snack, the children made their own sandwiches. They practised spreading butter as well as cutting and chopping different fillings. We talked about the colours and flavours of foods and where our foods come from. 

This week the children brought in their favourite teddies from home so we could learn a new song together - Teddy Bear's Picnic. The children danced and sang with their teddies and we share stories and snack time together.
