Everyday is a nursery rhyme day in Nursery A but we are singing even more this week as it’s National Nursery Rhyme Week.  Here we are having fun singing ‘Row, row, row your boat’ with a partner.

We saw fantastic creativity and imagination in our sensory play this week.  Children were focused and engaged well with the experiences provided.  Cognitively, sensory play stimulates neural pathways in the brain through exploring different textures, materials and smells.  

As part of our forest skills activities the chidlren have been making badges.  This week we decorated our name badges and added wool to hang them around our necks.  

The children in Nursery A have enjoyed playing with their friends again after the half-term break.  Many of the children are becoming much more confident with their climbing, balancing and riding skills, demonstrating determination and strength during their outdoor play.  They have remembered good…

This morning we have been learning about Diwali or the ‘Festival of Lights’ The children were very interested to hear how this is celebrated and we are going to be making our very own diva pots in class.  

After a big garden clear up in Nursery A this week, we have been busy planting some Spring bulbs.  

The children made hedgehog bread rolls in nursery today.  They used skills of mixing, kneading, rolling and cutting.  They observed the dough rising and baking.  Nursery smelt amazing!  We hope our families enjoy the bread.  

This week in Nursery A we were lucky enough to receive a donation of a new high chair and doll.  The children pulled the high chair up to the table and decided that it was the little one’s birthday.  We found a cake and promptly began singing ‘Happy Birthday’.  The children then decided to write…
