Nursery A and B children came together this morning in our forest school area for a wonderful time of friendship and exploring. For many it was their first visit to our forest school area.  

There will be some happy, tired and muddy children this evening! 

We have spent time learning the sign of the cross prayer in nursery as part of our prayers and learning in RE. The children have also been very busy learning their morning, lunchtime and home time prayers both in school and at home.  

The children in Nursery A have had a very busy time settling in, discovering and exploring our nursery environment.  The children were very excited by the opening of our new ‘Autumn Outdoor Cafe’ today!

The children enjoyed their daily collective worship today by gathering together and taking part in tactile prayer. Tactile prayer such as gentle colouring has a soothing quality that promotes a sense of stillness, creating the conditions for a more reflective and receptive prayer experience.…

On Monday morning, year 6 celebrated our first ever outdoor leavers’ mass in our prayer garden. Parents, parishioners and staff were invited to join the celebration. 

Year 1 Church Visit 

Today Year 1 went to Church to look at several key features of our Church. We looked at the lectern, altar, crucifix, font, tabernacle, stained glass windows, pews, holy water and donation boxes. 

On Thursday, some children from Year 5 went to celebrate Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral. The mass was led by Archbishop John Sherrington and was to celebrate all the work done in raising money for Nugent Care.

 

As part of our RE topic, ‘Dialogue and Encounter’ we visited church.  We listened to a Gospel reading and learned about how the church family gather together to pray and to celebrate the Eucharist.  We talked about how were are all friends of Jesus and how to follow his example.  The children…

We are enjoying our special time spent together each day in prayer.  The children choose items to set up a focus area before we spend time together. 

Last week, Y5 had an excellent time at St Joseph’s Prayer Centre.

The children took part in a range of workshops celebrating differences and recognising the qualities in each other.
