Printing in Reception
We have been using vegetable to explore texture and print this week. The children have mixed colours and appparatus to create their own pictures using vegetables to print from.

Painting
Today we investigated the effect of different salts when added to water colours. We used table, epsom and Himalayan salt along with a combination of each to create the different effects.
Clay Minibeasts in Nursery

Clay Modelling in Nursery
The children in nursery are developing and strengthening their fine motor skills to create minibeasts using clay. They are rolling, pinching, and poking to make different shapes and patterns.
Year 2 Art & Design
Year 2 used magazine images and their own previous work to create a collage.
3D bowls
Using PVA glue, tissue paper and cling film, the children created 3D bowls.
They selected analogous colours (colours next to each other on the colour wheel) for their designs.

Today we have enjoyed creating some valentines crafts for our families.
Chinese New Year in Nursery
The children have been learning about Chinese New Year and looking at images and clips of the parade in Liverpool. Some children also created Chinese numbers up to 5 using different coloured paints.
Creating mandalas
As part of our art topic we have been studying mandalas. These patterns are used in Hinduism and Buddhism and use concentric circles.
