Over the last week the children have been helping our new children settle into new routines. They are making new friends, playing together and getting to know one another. 

After a discussion in Nursery, one of our children brought in a pack of balloons.  Mrs Bruchez had been talking about papier mache and how to make it.  As she started to demonstrate, some air escaped from the balloon, much to the amusement of the class.  It turned into 5 minutes of pure joy and…

Today is ‘Party Day’ in nursery. We are celebrating Christmas and the end of a wonderful term together. We have enjoyed party food and lots of dancing with our friends. 

Today the children had a lovely surprise when Father Christmas came to visit us.

Physical Development, Expressive Art & Design

The children are using their fine motor skills to decorate wreaths, Christmas trees and snowmen this week. They are also wrapping gifts for under the tree and making magical reindeer food bags. 

The children have had lots of fun rolling, throwing, catching and balancing using the hoops, balls and quoits. 

Our nursery is full of invitations to play, learn, investigate and explore but first thing in the morning we vary what we have out on our carpet area. Recently, the children have loved mark making and exploring shape on large sheets of paper.
