Welcome Back!
We may have only just returned to school after the half term break but the children are already excited for Easter! They have created an Easter house using the magnetic tiles. Lots of lovely language and cooperative play.
New Book
Our classes found a suitcase with lots of items inside all related to our new book!! The children were really excited to explore what had been left for them and to see their new book. The Journey Home by Emma Levey
Jesus welcomes Everyone!
We have been talking about how we are welcomed into school, our homes and our church. How we say good morning to each other, wear smiles on our faces and take care of one another. We talked about how we are part of Jesus’ family and how Jesus welcomes Everyone. We made banners decorated with our…
Representing numbers on tens frames
Today we have been working in partners to represent numbers 6, 7 and 8. Either the numeral or numicon was shown to the children showing 6, 7 or 8. They then, in partners, worked out what number was being shown and represented this on a 10s frame.
Home school diaries
We love to share our Home School Diaries with each other. Every Friday we sit in small groups and discuss our weeks home task. We love to listen to one another, ask questions and find out about our learning!
Measuring 2026
The cubes have created lots of excitement in class and today the children were trying to build a tower that was taller than the teacher! Lots of great mathematical language was used and the children had lots of fun.

Floating and Sinking Investigations

Reception Church Visit
Today we visited English Martyrs’s church to see the crib with the three Kings now in attendance.
Ice
The cold weather last week has inspired us to investigate ice. The week is off to a great start using ice to practise our fine motor skills. We are using ice blocks with food colouring to draw pictures, write our names and make shapes on the paper.
Subitising
Practising our subitising skills in class this week. We are rolling a dice, recognising the number then circling the corresponding dots on a piece of paper. The children are loving this already.
