We have been learning about fact families in maths this morning. We have used double sided counters and tens frames to help us work out our addition facts. In pairs we have recorded our answer on a whiteboard.

We have been learning about different types of animals including mammals and birds. We sorted the animals into the different types and talked about the features of each one.
Year 2 Art & Design: Painting
The children made a shape pattern by drawing around 3D shapes. They then painted the different sections using primary colours.

The children worked in groups to sort animals into vertebrates and invertebrates.

Year 2 Lancashire Hawks and Owls
Today we were visited by Margaret and Michael from Lancashire Hawks and Owls. They brought some of their amazing birds with them to show us. We learnt lots of facts about the birds and we we able to stroke some of them.
Year 2 Monster Doodle Masterclass
Year 2 joined a Children’s University masterclass where we heard from an illustrator called Laura who does animations for CBeebies. She demonstrated how to draw a range of amazing monsters and then the children all had a go.
History Y2
This afternoon the children were comparing the lives and works of Florence Nightingale and Kitty Wilkinson. They worked as a group to sort facts into a Venn diagram.
English: The Three Little Pigs
The children worked in small groups to complete a role on the wall activity describing the appearance and personality of the wolf in the story.
