On Sunday it is the feast of the English Martyrs. In class today Y2 found out about the English Martyrs.

Today we have been investigating the effects that can be achieved by adding salt to a surface painted with watercolour.

Well done to our Year 6 netball team for competing in the South Sefton Netball League. The girls made fantastic progress throughout the year and enjoyed playing competitively. 

Today we explored the movement of the Moon.

We looked at the terms waxing and waning to explain how our view of the Moon changes.

Then we used the Lunar Calendar to predict the dates of the next full moon. 

In P.E this week, we continued to work on our vault techniques.

The children practiced using a range of different apparatus. 

This week we have been talking about healthy snacks and made our own wraps. The children were able to describe the different tastes, colours and shapes of the fillings. They carefully cut up the tomatoes and cucumber and then added what they wanted to their wraps to take home for lunch. Well done…

In our food technology session this weeek, the children have been creating fruit trees using a variety of fruit and bread sticks.  They then enjoyed eating them as a tasty snack.  

Year 1 have enjoyed playing invasion games this afternoon. In pairs they had to pass the ball to each other through the gate. 

We have been learning about different types of animals in Year 1. We worked together to sort the pictures into mammals and birds. We talked about the different features of each animal. 

Some of the children in Nursery A have been very busy creating “A Very Posh Hotel” this morning.  The walls are guarded by animals, there is an area for food and “candy”, binoculars for the guests and lots of rooms.  “This hotel is cool” was one of the comments overheard.  The children have been…
