Festival of Music at Philharmonic Hall

On Friday 14th March, pupils from Year 5 and 6 went to the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool to join pupils from The Mount and St Mary’s College for an evening filled with music. The children had been wonderfully prepared by Mr Kiggins and Mrs Tunstall who led the pupils on the night. They were assisted by Mrs Goulbourne, Mrs Gillies and Mrs Boylan who made sure things went smoothly behind the scenes. I was extremely proud of each and every one of the children who performed beautifully and gained a lot of praise from all in the audience, most notably the Musical Director of St Mary’s College, Mr Andrew Byers. The evening was summed up for me by a lady sitting behind me who had no connection to English Martyrs who said at the end of You Raise Me Up, “I think I’m going to cry!” Well done to you all – you were excellent ambassadors for English Martyrs. For those who were unable to attend, there are some audio recordings of the English Martyrs’ choir performances below. – Mr Dinsdale.
