Parent Support Adviser (PSA)

Working with parents and carers for children

Since September 2008, we have offered the services of a Parents Support Adviser to the parents and families of our school community. For more information about the role, keep reading!

Who is our Parent Support Adviser?

At English Martyrs Catholic Primary, Mrs Fraser is our Parents Support Adviser. She is here to support your child to get the very best from school  by providing guidance and a listening ear. She will be able to help you with any worries you may have about your child, and provide advice.

What does our Parent Supprt Adviser do?

Mrs Fraser helps support parents and carers in their demanding role. She does this by:

  • Working parents and carers to try to help with issues around their children's wellbeing in school,
  • Helping parents and carers with other parenting issues,
  • Providing a mentoring service for your children that includes the Second Step programme, that is delivered throughout the school,
  • Working with parents and carers to try to make sure that children are getting the most out of school and are safe and happy.

How does our Parent Support Adviser do this?

  • By offering one to one support
  • By listening to parents and carers and give confidential support and guidance
  • By providing information about other relevant services
  • To help parents with any attendance issues

Why might you need to use our Parent Support Adviser?

My child's behaviour is getting out of hand...............I have got lots of questions about being a parent...............I am worried about the next parents' evening...............I just need someone I can talk to...............I'm really worried about my son/daughter's self-esteem...............I would like to know who else I can talk to about my situation.

How do I contact the Parent Support Adviser?

Mrs Fraser can be contacted by phoning the school (0151 928 5601) or via e-mail using the contact form on the Contact Us page here.
Alternatively, feel free to drop in before 9.00am or after 3.00pm at the Main Office and if Mrs Fraser is available she will be more than happy to meet you.
